Lake Mead

We were able to go to Lake Mead last weekend with the Leeflang's!

It started out with a screaming child in the back seat, the WHOLE way there, except for the last 15 minutes when he finally fell asleep, which only lasted the 15 minutes... :(
We arrived and hauled all of our stuff down the dock and got loaded up into the boat to head over to the beach where everyone had set up camp! We sat around for the first little while, ate some lunch and just caught up with everyone. Then the kids headed out on the boat to show off their skills! (I didn't take any pictures) This is Hannah the dare devil!

Once the kids got done, we headed out on the boat. Mostly for the purpose to get Bladen to fall asleep because it turned into an impossible task while we were on the beach with everyone running around and sweating. But while we were out there Ryan decided that he wanted to ski so we looped back into shore and picked up Adam so he could drive.
First attempt the boat had a hard time getting Ryan out of the water. Second attempt Ryan got up, made one cut and crashed.  Once he crashed, in the time it took us to loop around and get him the rope, this is what the water looked like...


NO JOKE!
As Adam and I looked back at the shore, we saw all the tents tumbling up the hill and everyone running around trying to stop things and take them down before everything was ruined.
Adam jumped out and swam to shore to help, Ryan and I had the job of keeping the boat out so that it didn't get pushed up onto shore or ruined.
It felt like Cast Away out there, (which rocked Bladen to sleep) after about an hour he called down just enough and Joey had placed an anchor off shore so that we could head in and the boat could stay off shore.
Needless to say, we packed up and headed back to Vegas where we got to enjoy the rest of the weekend!
We had a lot of fun and a lot of excitement!

I guess that's one way to get out of having to learn how to wake board!
